Jens Ferm (b. 1960) is educated at the Academie des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he still lives and works today.
Ferm has a minimalist approach to painting, where he searches for nature, man as well as the interior. There is a great focus on the surface, where various motifs are subtly hinted through Ferm’s distinctive color use. The motifs, which are often symbols of artists’ own experiences and thoughts, are based on studies of the life and decay of objects, and emphasize the significant and beautiful in every part of an object’s development.
Ferm has had several solo exhibitions in Paris, New York, Genève, Stockholm and Copenhagen.
