Kirsten Dufour (b. 1947) is educated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. Dufour works with sculpture and performance, where themes such as collectivism and social imbalance are universal throughout her practice.
Dufour’s work is often based on cooperation and group forming. Among other things, she helped start the artist group YNKB (External Nørrebro Culture Bureau) in 2001, which has been of great importance for several artistic initiatives at Nørrebro, such as the founding of the Association Astrid Noacks Atelier. In 2010 Dufour received, together with her husband Finn Thybo Andersen, the Eckersberg Medaillen.
